Live jazz revels at Shedd Aquarium! The popular midweek Jazzin’ at the Shedd series returns this summer with a festival-worthy lineup of Chicago’s top jazz ensembles.

As the sun goes down and the music heats up, relax with a drink on our breezy terrace to take in our unbeatable city view or stroll the aquarium and experience the unbelievable animals that live inside.

If you've never been, this is a long standing summer event every Wednesday evening with a different musician/band on the outdoor patio.
I like to think of it as adult night at Shedd: LIVE JAZZ, FOOD and DRINK and the evening is capped off with one of the BEST VIEWS of the Navy Pier Fireworks which is at 9 PM.

The Ava Logan Jazz Ensemble July 12
Ava Logan is a veterinarian by day and a jazz singer at night! She has performed at clubs and festivals from Bel Air and Beverly Hills to Moscow, Minsk, Paris and Rome, along with local festivals in Chicago, Glen Ellyn, Olympia Fields and Maywood. Ava’s theater performances include “Ella Fitzgerald & Friends” and “Lena Horne & Friends” at the Skokie Theater, as well as portrayals of Ella and Nancy Wilson at Chicago’s Black Ensemble Theater. Her accompaniment may be anywhere from one musician up to an 18-piece big band! For relaxation and excitement, don’t miss this dynamic performer!

The music begins at 5 PM but if you prefer you can come early wander around and look at the animals. Sometimes there will be music indoors but the main performance is outside on the upper North patio.

We'll meet using the Caribbean Reef exhibit as a meeting point and/or use phone/text messages. I'll give out a number on the day of the event for members who might not already know me or have my number.
